The Out of School Experience has been providing outstanding quality before, after and school holiday activity-based childcare since the beginning of 2001. With an excellent reputation and a long and proven history of outstanding, sustainable provision, The Out of School Experience consistently offers the very best.
Throughout the Out of School Experience’s long history, the focus has been about excellence. Your child/children are absolutely central to everything we do. Therefore, our fabulous activity planning is in response to their interests and ideas, age and stage of development, and their suggestions.
We link closely with your child’s school too, in order to provide activities that actually complement their learning there. We do this in partnership with you and their school. The best bit is, children don’t even realise their school learning is actually being embedded…. their view is that they simply get to relax, play and engage in fun stuff after their busy day at school.
Our activities, from sports to crafts, cooking to dance are organised in response to consultation with the children, their parents, their schools and of course, our detailed understanding of each and every child.
The Out of School Experience is committed to quality, and are unique in having been consistently graded as outstanding by Ofsted. This means that for almost two decades we have been consistently judged to be amongst the very best by Ofsted, the inspecting body. Such accolade is reserved for the very best 2% in the country. Thus, the Out of School Experience is officially recognised by Ofsted as providing the highest quality out of school clubs around.
Our staff team are exceptionally well trained. They are selected based on their attitude, enthusiasm and positive approach to children. We always seek fabulous ‘play partners’ who communicate well with children, safeguard them and support their personal, social and emotional needs. We then provide them with all the tools they need to be fabulous childcare professionals, including detailed policies and procedures, very regular professional supervision and guidance and WEEKLY training. This means our team are exceptionally well equipped to work effectively as a team to deliver excellence for every child.
This means that you can feel confident and relaxed, knowing that children are safe, happy and engaged. Furthermore, you will be kept well informed of their experiences, with information sent directly to an app on your smart phone. The Out of School Experience uses the best quality technology, to provide daily updates of children’s experiences via a ParentZone app, to ensure parents are kept fully informed. Furthermore, invoices and account details can been seen at a glance, payments made, and new sessions requested at any time of the day.
For children within the early years age range (reception class and below), detailed information regarding each child’s age and stage of development is collected from parents prior to them starting at the club. This information is used to ensure the right environment is created and each child’s key person can help the child settle quickly by meeting their needs effectively. The information is also used to assess each child’s starting points, to ensure activities and experiences are right for each child. Staff also link with each child’s school to ensure their learning in school is complemented through their experiences in club. This includes through continuous provision and adult led activities and ensures the highest quality out of school club experiences for your child.
Meet The Management Team
With a background as a senior child protection police officer, I opened the first Out of School Experience site in February 2001.
My qualifications are BSc (Hons) Applied Psychology, MBA and Early Years Professional Status. I have also worked for a number of years as an Early Years Inspector on behalf of Ofsted, inspecting childcare settings of all types.
As well as supporting the consistent delivery of the highest possible quality of out of school care, I also work as an Early Years and Childcare Consultant. This means I support hundreds of childcare professionals and provide weekly training across the sector.
My passion is quality and ensuring the best possible provision in order to ensure a community where children always come first.
I have been a fundamental part of The Out of School Experience for almost 17 years. I hold NVQ level 2 and 3 in Young Children’s Learning and Development, and BA(Hons) Fine Art.
I am passionate about quality experiences for children. I lead on the Out of School Experience Child Centred Planning, which ensures daily activities for children based on their interests, age and stage of development and of course, embedding their learning in school through play.
From time to time I engage in consultancy work for other childcare providers too, in order to guide and support them to deliver the highest quality of care and education for children.
